Just outside of the city in Baltimore County, The Cloisters estate is a storybook setting for a fairytale wedding and one of Baltimore's best wedding venues.
Built in the early 1930s by the well-traveled Sumner and G. Dudrea Parker, the Cloisters Castle is an homage to Medieval architecture. Modeled after structures seen during the Parkers' European travels, the castle is a picturesque backdrop for romantic wedding photos. Stone for the building was quarried from the estate and throughout Maryland and a number of exterior details date back to 16th century France and Italy. With such attention to detail, weddings held here feel enchanting and truly special.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions are lovely here, either in the courtyard or the ampitheatre. Beautiful flowering plants and shade trees delight the senses and add beautiful background for wedding photos. There are so many spots at The Cloisters for striking portraits and amazing photojournalistic shots. There is magic in the air here, inspired by the remarkable surroundings and the happy gatherings taking place.
